3.2.3. PIMEX discussions and improvements (C)
Twenty-one employees participated in an intervention method using the PIMEX (Picture Mix Exposure) method (Rosén et al.,2005b). The employees welded both black sheet and stainless steel at different locations. The intervention method performed was aimed at reducing the welders’ exposures to welding fumes. The welders were videotaped at the same time as the exposure to welding fumes was measured. Immediately after each measurement, the result was discussed with the welders, and control measures to reduce hazards and improve working conditions were discussed and attempted. Work environment researchers led the intervention and the discussions with the employees. Safety motivation was measured over the course of one and a half months.
