Many have shopped on-
line from abroad
E-commerce from abroad is common in the region. No
fewer than seven out of ten Nordic consumers have at
some point shopped online from outside their national
borders. Like other countries in the survey, the United
Kingdom and the United States are the most popular
countries to buy from, even though exchange rate fluctua-
tions have weakened Nordic residents’ purchasing power
in relation to these countries. In shopping from abroad, the
same product categories top the list of best-selling articles
as in shopping from domestic sellers – clothing/footwear
and home electronics – but consumers also like to buy
