The combined action of insects, plant pathogens, E.
crassipes phenological stage of its growth cycle and the
weather conditions contributed together to the E. crassipes
dramatic reduction at the Cruz Pintada Reservoir. This is
the first experiences in Mexico that shows the feasible use
of combined biocontrol with insects and pathogens in a
broad infested surface. Nevertheless, more research is
needed to gather more data, which support with a higher
level of confidence the efficacy of this approach of water
hyacinth control and management
