Identification of P. fluorescens BD5
An effective biosurfactant – producing strain, BD5, was isolated
from the water around Wroclaw University scientific base in the
Arctic Archipelago of Svalbard. This strain was isolated among
130 morphologically distinct bacteria based on the lowest surface
tension of its culture supernatant. Cells of the isolated strain were
rod-shaped, gram-negative and aerobic. The optimal temperature
for growth of strain BD5 in MSM with 2% glucose was 28 C. The
strain BD5 was arginine dihydrolase-, citrate utilization
