While this study was primarily focused on examining the treatment sensitivity
of the ADHD-Q, an additional finding was that the hyperactivity/inattention subscale
of the SDQ also appeared sensitive for tapping children’s responsivity to the
stimulant medication, and hence indicates that this 5-item subscale is also useful
for monitoring therapeutic changes during drug treatment. At the very least, this
finding suggests that the SDQ hyperactivity/inattention subscale certainly covers
the key features of ADHD, and thus provides further support for the validity of
this scale
