Leadership styles can be discussed from many perspectives and can be described in many ways. The leadership style one employs depends on the environment in which it is to be used, the groups on which it is being used and the tasks which it is meant to complete. In general, leadership styles can be broadly defined as the ways in which we direct and motivate people (Victor, n.d, Multidimensional Power section). In this study of how Cambodia's cultural characteristics can affect a business organization, we will discuss and provide guidelines specifically on how Hofstede's concepts of Power Distance, Individualism and Maculinity within a culture can be used to maximize our business potential as a fitness consulting firm. They will especially help us determine effective leadership styles and shape the workplace culture for a highest level of success.
