The Permit to Work process (PTW) is an important tool.
Done properly, the PTW together with the Written plan and Task Risk Assessment (TRA) specifies the type of work, lists the risks and mitigation measures we need to put in place.
They identify who within the team will do what, and which supervisor is responsible to make sure this happens. It is a signed commitment to the OIM and company man that the team will carry out what has been specified and planned.
Make sure we all know what our PTW says what we need to do. When something changes, stop and get with your supervisor to reassess what we need to do to keep track with what was planned. It might involve getting additional resources or stop the job completely....
Remember that prevention is better than cure....
Thank you for another safe and productive week.
Let's plan and do it again
