The Evaluation and Measurement Program has been designed to introduce students to theories, skills, and applications in the fields of research methodology, statistical analyses, program evaluation, assessment, and measurement/psychometrics.
Our program seeks to develop specialists who can apply their knowledge about research and measurement in a variety of settings. Emphasis on theory and application prepares students to use a variety of research approaches and techniques with a mature understanding of their rationale.
MASTER'S DEGREE PROGRAM IN EVALUATION & MEASUREMENT
Our master’s degree program is oriented to developing educators and specialists in the areas of assessment, measurement, research design, and program evaluation. The program serves teachers and administrators seeking applied measurement, research, and evaluation skills for use in PK-12 and higher education, as well as professionals seeking careers in the areas of evaluation, research, and psychometrics.
The program offers flexibility in course offerings such that individualized plans of study can be built around the needs and career plans of each student. Additionally, students may take coursework in the program in a variety of ways:

PH.D. PROGRAM IN EVALUATION & MEASUREMENT
Our doctoral program seeks to develop specialists in a variety of research approaches and applications, statistical analyses, program evaluation, and measurement/psychometrics. Our doctoral students gain the expertise to teach courses at the college level, provide leadership in the conduct of research studies, and serve as consultants in research methodology and data analysis in education, industry, and government.
Graduates of our doctoral program have excelled in the following roles:
professors at the college and university level
research and evaluation specialists for school districts, higher education, and public and private organizations
assessment and measurement specialists for school districts and higher education institutions
psychometricians at commercial test publishers
research and evaluation consultants to state and national organizations
research and statistics experts in the private sector
INSTITUTIONAL RESEARCH & ASSESSMENT CERTIFICATE
The certificate is intened to satisfy professional development needs as well as preparing candidates to apply for employment in:
institutional research
student affairs assessment, or
academic assessment.
The course contents were designed in consideration of ACPA's ASK Standards, the NASPA Assessment, Evaluation, and Research Knowledge Community Assessment Education Framework, as well as competencies identified in publications by the Association for Institutional Research. The interdisciplinary certificate is an collaborative program drawing from both Evaluation and Measurement and Higher Education Administration — students from both programs are welcome, as well as students from other disciplines.
