In a recent article in the Daily Princetonian, zach Pincus-Roth discusses appearance discrimination in some detail. He classifies it as an affirmative action" issue, an injustice that deserves protection by law In his 1994 study he found that "below-average looking people earned 5 to 10 percent less than average-looking people, who earned about 5 percent less than people with looks. Furthermore, he refers to the Equal Employment ethnicity average Opportunity Act of 1964, which banned discrimination based on sex, race ethnicity," or national origin." Pincus-Roth suggests that appearance needs to be added to the previous list, because a person cannot control his or her appearance, and below-average looking people are at an economic disadvantage in the workplace
