Digital sampling rates above the minimum
required sampling rate of 216MHz are quite
realizable, however, processing data at those rates
often causes complications. For the purposes of
this project, sampling at four times the fastest
signal rate, or around 400MHz would be ideal.
For the desired resolution we would like to have
14 bits per sample, which is fairly typical for
ADCs. These design specifications would result in
a data rate of 5.6 Gbits/second. This is equivalent
to processing the capacity of one 700MB CD every
second.
