olivia's military on Wednesday burned a ton of cocaine seized in the Amazon jungle on the border with Brazil.
Authorities said they found the cocaine stored in packets and that traffickers were planning on taking it to Brazil on a small plane.
Bolivian officials said they believed the drugs were trafficked into Bolivia from Peru and that the traffickers planned to toss out the cocaine packets from their plane down to their accomplices on the ground in Brazil.
They estimated the cocaine would be valued at three (m) million US dollars once it left the country.
United Nations Office on Drugs and Crimes (UNODC) representative Antonio De Leo said the drug seizure sent a "strong message to organised crime."
