Erik-Anders is located in the village of Asta in Söderala parish, one of the best-preserved village environments in Söderhamn.
Erik-Anders is one of the seven Decorated Farmhouses of Hälsingland to have been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The largest and finest room is said to be one of the most beautiful in Hälsingland, with an unusually lavish interior.
Members of the Knutes family, famed painters from Dalarna, decorated the festivities room with high-quality marbling. It harmonizes beautifully with the tiled stove as well as the door lintels, and is still an amazing sight 200 years later. The farmhouse offers examples of interiors from several different eras, from the 1880s to the 1930s. The rooms have been furnished with reproduction period furniture, which is available to order in the shop.
There is also a recreated 1920s garden, a welcoming farmhouse café, a shop and a Visitor Center for the Decorated Farmhouses of Hälsingland. In summer, five hotel-standard double rooms are available for letting.
