This research focuses on two main currents (1) the development of an indicator system for the assessment of tourism sustainability (2) the adaptation of multicriteria evaluation techniques. The methodology proposal has two phases in the first phase has 175 indicators were created, all in relation to the sustainability and vulnerability of tourist activities along the coastal. The second phase has 35 indicators were selected using three criteria; (i) as the important indicator in the tourism system, (ii) the possibility of establishing an objective, quantitative limit (legal criteria) and subjective and (iii) the possibility of integrating the data in geographic information system (GIS) with the purpose of determining zones that have exceeded established limits.
