The wild fisheries study presents the status of fisheries based on two indicatorsdthe weight of catch and the CPUE. The first indicator was retrieved from the weight of catch landed at Ban Laem and Cha Am Districts in PB Province and Hua Hin and Pranburi Subdistricts in PK Province. CPUE was calculated from the mean weight of fish caught divided by the number of fishing hours using an otterm board trawl from three different boat lengths (less than 14 m, 14-18 m, and 19-25 m) with a codend mesh size of 25 mm focused on the fishing areas of Chonburi, Chachunagsao, Samut Prakarn, Samut
Sakorn, and Phetchaburi provinces. This CPUE closely represents that of the study areas. Data are available from the Department of Fisheries marine fisheries statistics based on a sample survey. CPUE is an indicator that clearly illustrates fish abundance, and is widely accepted as an indicator of fisheries’ effort.
