Gently touch some of the material that flowed
onto your work surface, or carefully touch a corner of the panel (to avoid marring the surface).
Once it’s spongy and doesn’t stick to your finger,
it’s ready to receive the image. At this point, it
should be about 65 degrees or less. If you have a
thermometer, you can use it to be sure it’s ready.
Then trim off the excess gelatin using an old
credit card or spatula (Figure 11.6).
