Bread has religious significance all over the world, but nowhere more so than in Greece. Almost all of the important days in the religious calender have their own speciality bread-some rich with fruit, eggs and butter, others completely plain , dependding on the holy that is being celebrated . Prosforo (holy bread) is the bread of the Greek mass , prepared by bakes every Saturday and taken to the church on SAunday by a member of the congregation. the large, round white loaf is stamped with the church seal and is the Host of the Communion, given out by the priest to the faithful during themass.
