t was pretty impossible for me to not include this one on my list and I’ll admit this is more of a personal choice and I won’t deny that there are a few faults with this fic. If you are a hard core Zoro fan then you will definitely like this fic because it does mainly revolve around him and it’s not until halfway through the fic does he actually meet Sanji for the first time. But there was something so fresh and so goddamn unique about this fic which caused me to overlook all of its faults and instead inspired me to start writing fanfiction myself. From the summary you can tell that there is some form of murder mystery involved in the story and yes, Sanji and Zoro both play parts in it, however much like one piece, everything is not always as it seems. The solving of the murder is essentially the main plot as opposed to a subplot that doesn't really play much of a part in the overall story. The idea of Sanji and Zoro not meeting until halfway through the story did put me off to begin with but once I read through it again I’ve come to admire this choice of plotting that the author decided to use. It’s great to see both characters’ lives and how they gradually begin to coincide with each other through events neither of them have any control over. And when they finally do come face to face, they both despise each other’s guts. Now this is obviously a given when you’re dealing with the relationship between Zoro and Sanji, and it’s pretty obvious that they won’t get off to a great start when meeting each other for the first time, as demonstrated by most au fics. However, unlike most au’s I’ve read, you can seriously tell how much they hate each other’s company. But in order for them to achieve their own goals and in doing so better their own lives, they have to come to terms with the fact that they need each other and that each of them has something that the other wants/needs. And this is just something which created the spark of interest which would then lead to me writing my own zosan fanfiction.
