While some stressors are notably far beyond our control, you will be surprised to learn just how many daily stressors can easily be eliminated. But how can you determine what stressors can be avoided? An efficient way of doing this is through creating a prioritized to-do list. Try physically listing everything that you want to complete in a day, or week, or longer. Then go through the list, marking the relative priorities of each activity. You can categorize the tasks into “musts” and “shoulds”, or follow this simple to-do list template. A prioritized to-do list allows you to analyze your long list of responsibilities and tasks. You may be surprised to realize what activities are more important than others, allowing you to complete what’s necessary first, and save for later, or possibly even eliminate, tasks that don’t really need to be done.
