3.5. Influence of climatic conditions during 6 months prior to the day of tapping
The correlation coefficients between yield and mean meteorological conditions during 45 days to 6 months (180 days) are given in Table 4. As the duration increases, Tn showed significant positive correlation with rubber yield. The highest correlations observed for R is during 135 days (0.8690), for Tx during 60 days (−0.8424), for Tn during 180 days (0.8645), for S during 75 days (−0.8540), for Ep during 60 days (−0.8350). The exact period required to translocate the photosynthates to the area of tapping is not known. However, the results indicate the influence of weather and climate up to 6 months on the yield potential of rubber trees.
