In the present article, the design, Syringe pump controlled by an 8051 microcontroller is designed for injecting fluids in micro channels in surface micromachining. The syringe pump is actuated by a stepper motor. The rotary to liner conversion is done using a lead screw mechanism in order to Achieve a smooth operation of the system. The mechanism used is simulated in Matlab Simulink and the results aare validated with that of the experimental ones. The pump is designed with proper alignment and the inclusion of error function in the open system provides a precise flow rate. The pump is tested for water as a fluid. The syringe can be designed on the numerical simulation for any fluid to be injected in the micro channels.
