Monchai was feeling well enough in hospital yesterday to explain what he remembered of the previous day's events.
Post Today reports that he said he had taken a train from Chumphon and intended to go back to his home in Kanchanaburi, but decided first to take a walk along the sea. After considerable drinking he got the urge to climb the mountain.
According to Pongsakorn Promkhunthot, the forestry chief in the area, Monchai took a very dangerous route up the mountain and is lucky he was not badly injured when he fell.
