The nutrient test medium used was 2% glucose, 1.5% agar and
0.2% L-asparagine in sterile deionised water. Different volumes of
either the LMW chitosan or oligo chitosan stock solution were
added to the medium whilst still molten to give concentrations
ranging from 0.05% to 0.1% v/v prior to pouring into 85 mm Petri
dishes (plates). Plates which were not amended with LMW chitosan/oligo
chitosan were used as controls
