Manufacturer PfizerDistributor ZuelligContents Parecoxib NaIndications Short-term treatment of post-op pain.Dosage 40 mg IV/IM, followed by 20 or 40 mg 6- to 12-hrly as required. Max: 80 mg/day. Elderly <50 kg Initially ½ the usual dose. Max: 40 mg/day.Contraindications Hypersensitivity to sulfonamides. Active peptic ulceration or GI bleeding, inflammatory bowel disease, CHF (NYHA II-IV), severe hepatic dysfunction (serum albumin <25 g/L or Child-Pugh ≥10). Patients who have experienced asthma, urticaria or allergic-type reactions to aspirin or NSAIDs including selective COX-2 inhibitors. Treatment of post-op pain immediately following coronary artery bypass graft surgery. Established ischemic heart disease, peripheral arterial disease &/or cerebrovascular disease. Pregnancy (3rd trimester) & lactation.Special Precautions CHF, HTN; conditions predisposing to or worsened by fluid retention. Dehydration, hepatic impairment. History of active GI disease eg ulceration, bleeding or inflammatory conditions. Monitor renal function.
