Pronouncing is a prominent aspect in every language. Advocating the significance of correct pronunciation, Gillerb (1993) asserted, “If they cannot hear well, they are cut off from language. If they cannot be understood easily, they are cut off from conversation with native speaker.”
It is therefore necessary for every language learner to pronounce the sounds correctly in order to communicate and be understood by other learners and native speakers.
The researcher has identified various cases of pronouncing the“-ed”sounds in past-tense verbs. With an aim to figuring out the causes of employee’ mispronunciation such sounds in English, as well as suggesting timely solutions, the researcher is inspired to carry out a research on the current situation of her own university entitled.
