A similar behavior
was observed when lignin was incorporated into fish gelatin film
and caused a disruption of the smooth and homogeneous structure
of the gelatin-based film, which was explained by the certain
degree of immiscibility between the two components (Núnez- ˜
Flores et al., 2013). Ahmad et al. (2015) reported the same effect
on fish-gelatin-based films added of rice flour and emphasized that
the discontinuity and roughness of film microstructure depends
on the interaction of the components and may be enhanced by
the arrangement of polymer chains in the films matrix, which may
take place in different ways during film formation. As well as in
their study, this work demonstrated that the components of the
biopolymer matrix were compatible and systematically mixed.
