Network marketing as with any business comes with certain organizational politics. Some
network marketers develop rigid policies for their downline to follow. The policies can and
routinely are very political in nature. Network marketers use power bases and politics to
manage the downline. Politics are visible within one’s downline as downline members are
competing for the upline attention and guidance. Additionally, the politics in the downline
surround the different events, recruitment, and knowledge sharing.
