Tropical Asia has fascinated generations of explorers with its natural wealth, charismatic megavertebrates, and ancient civilization and cultures. It is still described as a new frontier for work on amphibian systematic (Dubois 1999). Thoughtless exploitation of the region’s tropical forests increases the importance of efforts to understand the region’s amphibian fauna. Therefore, intensive sampling of key habitats is urgently needed, especially in the tropical moist forest ecoregions, to integrate amphibian conservation into regional biodiversity conservation strategies.
