If, on the other hand, the system of distribution is one purely according to work, i.e., = 0, then optimality can be achieved if either S = 1 as in the previous case, or if the elasticity of output with respect to labour is equal to the relative share of income of the LMF in gross output. This condition is, however, only satisfied if the LMF owns no input other than labour. In fact, there is too little work done in a system of distribution according to needs and there is too much work done in a system of distribution according to work.
