Participants also identified a number of factors
which they felt impacted on the patient bed-bath.
These were grouped into organisational factors
such as: routine practice; timing; workload; the
necessity for other procedures/investigations for
the patient; level of experience of staff; the RN’s
personal practice preference; and product availability
and patient factors such as: incontinence;
diaphoresis; post-procedure/post surgery; freshenup
and the patient’s family wishes.
