The takraw is a small and hollow ball made of rattan or plastic. It is also the name of an exciting ball game played by most Thai men of all ages. Rattan ball is the only thing needed to play the game, and it can be played anywhere including temple courtyards, construction sites and school playground. In Bangkok, during the kite flying season, takrawcontests are held on an open court on the northern side of the Phramane ground.
