GC. The GC system consisted of a Packard-Becker model
433 gas chromatograph equipped with a dual-column system
and flame ionization detectors in conjunction with a digital
processor. The sensitivity of the detectors was 10-14 A, and
the detectors were connected to a GC control station
equipped with a printer plotter (model 433 control station;
Packard-Becker, Delft, The Netherlands). Glass columns
were used (1.83 m by 2 mm for Chromosorb 101 and SP 1200
and 0.91 m by 2 mm for Carbowax).
