NARCOTIC ADDICT REHABILITATION ACT,
B.E. 2545 (2002)

Given on the 27th Day of September B.E. 2545;
Being the 57th Year of the Present Reign.
His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej is graciously pleased to
proclaim that:
Whereas it is expedient to revise the law on narcotic addict
rehabilitation;
This Act contains certain provisions in relation to the restriction of
right and liberty of person, in respect of which section 29 in conjunction with section
31, section 35, section 237 and section 238 of the Constitution of the Kingdom of
Thailand so permit by virtue of law;
Be it, therefore, enacted by the King, by and with the advice and
consent of the National Assembly, as follows:
Section 1. This Act is called the “Narcotic Addict Rehabilitation
Act, B.E. 2545”.
Section 2. This Act, other than the provisions of Chapter III, shall
come into force as from the day following the date of its publication in the
Government Gazette. The provisions of Chapter III shall come into force at the time
and within the locality as notified by the Minister in the Government Gazette, but all
these provisions shall come into force throughout the Kingdom within one year as
from the date this Act comes into force.1
