bearings was identically made. From mechanical point of view the axial-radial bearing transmits both axial and radial forces while the radial bearing take up only the radial forces. The force flow between two parts in a finite element model can be modelled using constrain equations written between distinct nodes with identically coordinates. This was the strategy used in the considered electric motor model and there were generated node pairs between shaft and bearings.
As a consequence the connections of the bearings with the shaft were defined using such equations written separately for each bearing: for the axial-radial bearing there were written equations between node pairs in all three Cartesian directions and for the radial bearing there were written equations in two directions (x and z axis and not along axial axis – y, see Fig.1,a).
