This area of Hong Kong has a little bit of everything! Rich in history, Stanley was the temporary administrative center when the British first took over. During World War II, it was here that allied troops mounted their last stand before surrendering to the Japanese. Nowadays, Stanley is a beautiful area on the south side of Hong Kong, and you'll find plenty of places to eat — along with stunning ocean views — on its Main Street. For souvenirs, head to Stanley Market, a bustling street market selling all manner of tourist favorites. And for beach-lovers, there are also a few pristine stretches of sand to explore.
