On the other hand, no statistical differences (P N 0.05) were found in the concentrations of 2-phenylethanol for both strain cultures at differ- ent D. 2-butanol was not detected at the different D for either strain cul- tures. As expected, the highest concentrations of major alcohol and ester compounds were present when the sugars were completely con- sumed by both strains (S1 and S2) at D = 0.04 h−1 (Table 2).
