Ten gram of whole grain wheat taken in 250 ml Erlenmeyer
flasks, was mixed with 10 ml distilled water, autoclaved (121 C,
15 min) and subsequently cooled to ambient temperature. Fungal
spore suspensions (1106 spores/ml) were inoculated separately
(at 10% inoculum ratio, w/v) onto the surface of the steamed
substrates, mixed properly and incubated for 3 days at 30 C. The
unfermented wheat (control) was prepared without addition of
spore suspension.
