2.3. Preparation of extracts
The plant material was air-dried at 25
◦
C and ground in a Willey 4 type mill to a fine powder. The powdered material (20 g)
was extracted with 200 mL of ethanol for 72 h. After filtration,
the extracts (EEs) were evaporated under reduced pressure, below
40
◦
C. For aqueous extracts (WEs), 20 g of each plant were extracted
using 100 mL of hot water for 30 min, filtered and concentrated
under reduced pressure.
