Make sure that the graphics card has the latest driver installed from the graphics card manufacturers website. Even if the latest driver is installed, reinstall the latest driver and check if it resolves the issue. If the latest driver will not install for some reason, try the previous most recent version.
Note that this may be even more common if the customer has updated from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1. If a customer has done this update, it is likely a graphics card driver related issue.
Try Turning off User Account Control in Windows Control Panel.
