Thailand’s PTT Global plans maintenance at its HDPE line
According to a source close to the company, Thailand’s PTT Global is planning to shut its HDPE line on May 28 plant for a planned maintenance. The 300,000 tons/year line is expected to be offline until June 6.
Meanwhile, PTT Global is currently running is stream cracker at low operating rates due to a broken pipe and the cracker is expected to be shut for a week for repairs. Sources reported that the issue at the cracker will result in a shutdown at the company’s LDPE line while it will also affect PTT Global’s LLDPE production. The cracker is able to produce 1 million tons/year of ethylene.
