about 4%) and a high elastic modulus (E ¼ 2.5 GPa), indicating
a brittle behaviour. A progressive reduction in the elastic modulus
was observed with the increase in OLA content, (28%, 68% and 92%
related to neat PLA for 15, 20 and 25 wt% OLA, respectively),
evidencing the decrease in rigidity for the plasticized compositions.
This behaviour could be explained by the reduction of the macromolecular
chains cohesion when the plasticizer penetrates through
the polymer matrix [28].
