Carbohydrate fractions
The concentration of total and reducing sugars was
increased by Mn- deficiency as well as by Mn-excess. Nonreducing
sugars were decreased by Mn-excess (Fig. 2a).
The concentration of starch was decreased by Mn-deficiency
(Fig. 2b). Starch accumulation was found to be
dependent on Mn supply as it increased with increasing Mn
supply (Fig. 2b).
