“I’m not grumpy!” I said. “You are! You deny to have a drink with your colleagues after work, you never come clubbing with us, you always say no with a grumpy face” he smirked. “I’m dealing with stuff” I mumbled. “Let me guess…breakup?” he asked. I sighed. “The more reason to have fun and forget that idiota” he smirked. “Shut up Juan! Let’s get back to work!” I said and slapped his arm.
“You are coming today!” Juan and Kiara nagged after work. “Fine!” I groaned. They had been persistent for over 5 minutes and I wasn’t allowed to leave the office building either so I eventually agreed. “Yes!” they yelled in unison. I rolled my eyes and said, “Let’s get this over with!” Juan drove me and 3 other colleagues to a local bar. I ended up enjoying myself with them. We talked about work and exchanged funny stories we had experienced while working in the photography industry. They were all jealous because I had travelled the world during my internship at Vogue magazine. The females were extra jealous because I knew the Barca players and had been up-close and personal with them. If they only knew I thought, but I kept my mouth shut since that’s the last thing I wanted to talk about. I decided to call it a night when it was 11pm, because I felt tired. I said goodbye to my colleagues and decided to walk home. It was like a 15 minutes’ walk to my house and I needed some fresh air anyways. The roads were quiet and everything seemed peaceful.
“Hey girl!” I heard someone yell behind me. I turned around and looked at a shady looking figure. I decided to pick up the pace and walked faster. “Wait!” he yelled. I panicked and decided to run, but my legs didn’t cooperate because horror movie scenes flooded my mind. I felt a hand pull me back and I screamed out loud. “Shut the f*ck up!” the guy with a black hoodie hissed. He grabbed my handbag and I fought back. He slapped me hard across the face. I lost my balance due to the hard slap and fell on the sidewalk. I groaned in pain as I felt him yank my handbag out of my hands. “Hey!” I yelled, but he was gone before I could even blink.
