Ejection time is defined as the time of ejection of blood from the left ventricle beginning with the opening of the aortic valve and ending with closing of the aortic valve. The ejection time was estimated graphically from the heart sound recorded as shown in Fig.8. The identification of the two sounds namely S1 accompanied by opening of the aortic value and S2 accompanied by closing of the aortic value was explained in Section III-A. As shown in Fig. 8, the time difference between S1 and S2 sounds recorded using the microphone is taken as the ET. With the computed stroke volume, the pulse pressure was calculated in units of mmHg using (8) formulated in [11]
