The essential oil of one of the oldest medicinal plants in
the world, Zingiber officinale Roscoe (Zingiberaceae), also
known as ginger, consists mainly of gingerol and gingerona
(Chen et al. 1986; Balachandran et al. 2006). However, evaluation
of these compounds with different aims, for example,
insecticide, is recent, since there are few research papers published
in this area.
