Scene 1: Location – Tom in his sales manager’s office. Action – Sales manager addresses his concern that Tom doesn’t do enough precall planning and talks about features not relevant to the buyer.
Role play Tom and his boss’s conversation.
Scene 2: Location – Tom in one of his customer’s office. Action – Tom begins his sales conversation without asking any questions and determining needs. He goes right into features.

Role play the secretary asking Mary a few questions about what kind of research she is doing. Who does Mary work for? For what will she use the data she is collecting?
