Making sure someone was there for him at all times was
always one of our greatest concerns. Most of his PCAs were other
college students, just doing what college students do. They’d go out
drinking, have a good time, and forget. It was pretty nerve-racking,
without a family member close to go check on him. I always told
his PCAs, if they were not going to show up, at least call another
PCA to make sure the shift was covered.
