Because A. gracilipes has successfully spread to essentially all parts
of Asia and the western Pacific whose native vegetation is tropical
rainforest, it seems likely that this species would also do well in tropical
rainforest areas elsewhere (Fig. 2). Among the areas in the world where
A. gracilipes is not yet known, but where it would be expected to thrive,
are the moist tropical regions of the Caribbean, Central and South
America, West and Central Africa, northeastern Australia, and eastern
Madagascar
