To understand alterations of phosphatidylcholine in HD plasma suggested a change of phosphatidylcholine metabolic network, they examined the expression levels and activities of several key enzymes in the leukocytes of HD patients, preHD and controls, and found that PCYT1A was down-regulated in HD patients compared to controls and leukocyte activities of PLA2 was significant greater in HD compared with the controls. These metabolic indicate that disturbed metabolism is involved in pathogenesis of HD.
