Have you ever read a book, where you really had no idea where the plot was going for the first half of the book? I have. I don’t know about you, but when that happens, I feel like I need to go back and read it again, to find out what I missed in that first part, because I was trying to figure out the plot and the characters.
While that might be great for a mystery novel, it’s not what you want in your meeting. You want people to understand why they are there, what you are presenting to them, and why that is important to them. That way, they can pay attention to what you are saying, instead of sitting there trying to figure out what sort of game you might be playing.
