Methods
Participants
A convenience sample of 59 undergraduate university students was recruited for this study. The
participants ranged in age between 18 and 28 (M ¼ 21:56, SD ¼ 1.94) and included 33 males and
22 females while four individuals did not report their gender. There were 36 Caucasians, eleven
individuals who reported being Hispanic, one Asian, eight African–American, two Native-
Americans, and one who reported other racial/ethnic backgrounds. With regard to class standing
there were eleven first year students, 20 sophomores, 17 juniors, and eleven seniors who reported
being enrolled an average of 13 credit hours during the semester of the study.
